Flea Market is a film created using a small Samsung S750 camcorder purchased for one euro at the flea market Le Jas des Robert (Gulf of Saint-Tropez, Var).
From the diverse and varied footage leftover from this camcorder, a film is edited randomly and in real-time, accompanied by sounds and music, thanks to a JavaScript program.
Starting from Eisenstein’s theories, which consider editing as a collision that generates meaning, I create a film where discarded footage is assembled in real-time by an algorithm. Without human intervention, the images confront each other and generate new ideas through their unexpected encounters.
